Cadena de Favores (Pay it Forward)

Buenos días, little stars!

Como muchos sabéis, esta semana se celebra en Valladolid la Semana Internacional del Cine: la Seminci. Con motivo de este acontecimiento internacional que se repite cada año en mi ciudad, este post tratará sobre ¡PELÍCULAS!, en concreto UNA PELÍCULA sobre la educación. 

En este caso, os hablaré de mi película favorita: Cadena de Favores (os juro que me están entrando ganas de llorar de lo bonita que es esta película) 

Esta película trata de Trevor, un niño que vive con su madre alcohólica en condiciones muy pobres, y que con el nuevo curso escolar, su nuevo profesor de estudios sociales les manda un trabajo para cambiar el mundo. En la película nos cuentan la vida de este niño tan especial y hasta que punto un profesor puede ayudar y dar influenciar a un alumno.

No os voy a mentir, esta es una película sobre educación, pero personalmente no me marcó en mi vocación docente. Sin embargo, sí que me influenció mucho cómo el maestro se involucraba en la vida del estudiante y le motivaba para hacer un proyecto que realmente cambiase el mundo. Es bastante curioso, porque ni siquiera el profesor mismo dentro de la peli se da cuenta de lo mucho que recae su influencia sobre los alumnos.

Este profesor toma un enfoque tradicional, pero en este proyecto sería más bien activo, pues fomenta la motivación de los niños muchísimo. 

En cuanto a la frase con la que me quedo de esta película, me gustaría poner una escena que no tiene que ver específicamente con la educación, pero más bien con el proyecto que propone el niño:

Pues para mí, es necesario enseñar este concepto, que sean buenos, que ayuden a los demás si lo necesitan, que respeten y que trabajen juntos; es muy importante que la gente sea buena (que no es lo mismo que tonta). 

En conclusión, para mí, como profesora hay tres puntos muy importantes: que aprendan a comunicarse en inglés porque es un idioma absolutamente precioso y super interesante; que sepan que pueden hacer de todo, incluso si quieren cambiar el mundo; y que hay que ser buenas personas y cambiar el mundo haciendo el bien. 

Os recomiendo una vez más 'Cadena de Favores', es una película realmente preciosa.

Good morning, little stars!

As many of you know, this week Valladolid is celebrating the International Film Week: the Seminci. On the occasion of this international event that is repeated every year in my city, this post will be about MOVIES, specifically ONE MOVIE about education. 

In this case, I will talk about my favorite movie: Pay it Forward (I swear I feel like crying because of how beautiful this movie is).

This film is about Trevor, a boy who lives with his alcoholic mother in very poor conditions, and with the new school year, his new social studies teacher sends them a job to change the world. In the film we are told about the life of this special boy and to what extent a teacher can help and influence a student.

I'm not going to lie to you, this is a movie about education, but personally it did not influence me in my teaching vocation. However, it did influence me a lot how the teacher got involved in the student's life and motivated him to do a project that would really change the world. It is quite curious, because not even the teacher himself in the movie realizes how much his influence falls on the students.

This teacher takes a traditional approach, but in this project it would be rather active, as it encourages the children's motivation a lot. 

As for the phrase that sticks with me from this movie, I would like to put a scene that does not specifically have to do with education, but rather with the project that the child proposes:

Well, for me, it is necessary to teach this concept, that they should be good, that they should help others if they need it, that they should respect and work together; it is very important that people are good (which is not the same as stupid). 

In conclusion, for me, as a teacher, there are three very important points: that they learn to communicate in English because it is an absolutely precious and super interesting language; that they know that they can do anything, even if they want to change the world; and that they have to be good people and change the world by doing good. 

I recommend you once again 'Pay it Forward', it is a really beautiful movie.
